267 mph.
Ever since the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport hit the road, the title of fastest car in the world went with it. But now it appears that a certain Swedish supercar may have finally eclipsed that mark.
With six production records under its belt, including the 0-186-0 mph time of 21.9 seconds, the Koenigsegg Agera R is already considered the biggest threat to the Veyron Super Sport’s title and now that Koenigsegg has officially released the new Agera R, word is leaking that the car is capable of hitting 273 mph, six mph faster than the mighty Bugatti.
The number has yet to be verified, but if the Agera R is capable of breaking the 270-barrier, then we’re going to have a pretty interesting battle for fastest car supremacy on our hands.
The world is waiting for your figures, Koenigsegg. Let it be known that the 2013 Agera R can hit a top speed of 273 mph and you can claim the title of fastest car in the world. And in doing so, you better expect a reply from Bugatti very, very soon.
Is the new Koenigsegg Agera R the fastest car in the world? originally appeared on topspeed.com on Tuesday, 13 March 2012 12:00 EST.

This is fairly cool: Martin Truex Jr. and NHRA Top Fuel driver Antron Brown swapped rides in Charlotte on Wednesday. Truex fired off the line in a dragster at the zMAX Dragway, while Brown took hot laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Check out the ways that each driver perceives the other's ride, from the sense of time to the feeling of G-forces. Good stuff.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ? Haters gonna hate, as Danica Patrick well knows. Latest on board the Danica-sucks train: one Ross Shimabuku, sports anchor for the Fox affiliate in San Diego, offering a bit of unsolicited opinion about Ms. Patrick and the "chip on her shoulder." Bet Fox is just thrilled that ol' Ross is trashing one of the key drawing cards for the biggest race they'll telecast all year.

Closing off the last of the Daytona 500 with this gem: Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. racing for the toilet during the Explosion Delay. Looks like Kes overshot his marks, so Junior was able to snag the win. Good on ya, Junior! The streak is over!
